I got my start in the trucking industry 20 years ago hauling loads between Hampton Roads, VA and Frankfort, KY along Route 460. Since then, I’ve worked for a few different trucking companies, driving routes all over the U.S. I’ve been to 49 states (can’t drive a truck to Hawaii) and many parts of Canada during my years on the road. Though the weeks away from home are challenging, overall, I’ve found this career rewarding.
I started Route 460 Transportation Authority as a blog and forum for other career truck drivers. The idea is to provide resources for the trucking community, helping newcomers launch their careers, while also providing a place for discussion and support. I hope you’ll find the articles interesting, informative, and helpful to your career.
